Letters to the Editor: Hey, Dodgers, care to comment on that racist ad played during the playoffs?
The following is a letter to the Dodgers, which you should receive by email at [email protected]. The Dodgers may respond by sending a message to this email address. If you do not see the letter in your inbox, please check your spam folder.
Dear Dodgers,
Why is it all the great things you do are ignored? For example, the team you have won a World Series championship this decade, you can’t use it to promote yourself? Or the fact that you had the largest payroll in baseball this season?
Maybe that’s why you didn’t send a tweet from your account.
I was at an Astros game in Houston when the ad was aired. I had the distinct opportunity to tell the Astros I wish they would have stayed in Texas, but I can’t do that. The ad only perpetuates the stereotypes that make blacks look like they are “less than” and make Hispanics look like they are “worse than.”

I am a Dodgers fan and I root for the team. I’m not alone in this, nor do I have the need to defend the Dodgers from the haters out there. All I want to do is support them and celebrate with them.
Now that you have won World Series championships, the last one the most recent, you should not play this ad. It is offensive, and it is racist.
My problem isn’t with the facts of this ad. It’s with the decision to use it.
I think it’s ridiculous that the Dodgers would post an ad that
