Matt Smith is ‘House of the Dragon’s’ ‘agent of chaos.’ And he’s loving every minute of it.
When he wasn’t doling out “house-like,” “sassy,” “funny,” and “quirky” banter with fellow character actors throughout the production of the new Netflix series House of the Dragon, Smith was busy serving as something of a mascot for the show itself, appearing as a “super-hot” dragon named “Sasha” in promotional photos.
The reality is that Smith’s involvement with House of the Dragon — not to mention the fact that he is the show’s co-founder, along with co-showrunner and executive producer Chris McKay — is the most significant role he will ever have in the production. That he’s been tapped to play “agent of chaos” was not something that was in any immediate plans for the show’s third season, when Smith joined the season’s cast and crew last year. His decision to join the production as “Sasha,” though, was an easy one.
“It was an easy choice to say yes to,” he told Vulture. “And it’s something I’m good at. I love doing stunts and I love improv and I love acting, and I thought about trying to work in television.”
And in his experience on House of the Dragon, he noted, he has never seen television work itself into such a raucous, crazy, high-voltage frenzy.
