Kim, who was arrested and ticketed for DUI less than an hour after arriving at her Fort Lauderdale Airport flight, was reportedly arrested for suspicion of Driving Under the Influence. The Broward County Sheriff’s Office said they found alcohol in her system and a small amount of marijuana in her possession. There were no signs of impairment at the time.
The actress – who had been in the US since January, and had been scheduled to visit friends in New York in early February – has been in a DUI-related vehicle accident in the past. In a January incident, she was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence in Florida. The Broward Sheriff’s Office said, “We are aware that a female subject is the subject of an impaired driving arrest warrant,” adding “she has been released”.
A few months after her DUI arrest, she was also in a crash involving a car driven by the actor James Gandolfini. The actor was in a BMW and the driver was in an Audi in the Hollywood Hills. Kim hit the Audi and Gandolfini told the LAPD, “I don’t see why she was not put under arrest. I see why it was manslaughter, it was so close.”
