Brief Description of the Facility
The Guantanamo Naval Base is the main base servicing the US military that is located in Cuba. The facility is currently used to hold the detainees who are the victims of a controversial Bush and Bush-Cheney administration inhumane and illegal interrogation techniques which is leading to many victims in torture. According to a US official, the facility will be used to hold detainees “until the end of the administration.” This will cause the US military to run out of space at Guantanamo Naval Base in less than 24 months. The facility was originally intended for 60 detainees, however the administration had a plan to house up to 200 captives.
Guantanamo Bay Naval Base Facilities
Guantanamo Bay Naval Base has two facilities. One is the Naval Base Facility and the other is the Military Control Facility. The Naval Base Facility was designed in a way that it can accommodate large number of detainees quickly and efficiently. The MCC is also designed in a way that it can be used to hold up to 800 prisoners at once.
The Naval Base Facility, known as Camp X-Ray, is where all the detainees are held. The facility is designed in a way that it can accommodate a total of 250 prisoners at once, more if the US decides to transport the detainees.
The Military Control Facility, known as Camp Echo, is where the detainees are held while the military is performing the interrogation of prisoners. The facility is designed to hold up to 250 prisoners.

Camp X-Ray is the naval base building. It was designed in a way that it can be used to accommodate a total of 250 detainees at once. The building has a total area of 8,000 square meters and it is constructed in a way that it can accommodate 100 detainees at once.
