The Black L.A. power broker and the former basketball player both say they never had a sexual relationship, and no sexual encounters ever occurred.

That’s all Danny Bakewell will say in exchange for an opportunity to work his way through a lawsuit filed by his former girlfriend, who’s suing for an $8.5 million sexual-assault settlement.

“My entire focus is on getting the best possible outcome for all parties before any matter is concluded,” Bakewell said in a statement. “The litigation is an unfortunate part of my life, but at no time was I in contact with any woman who has alleged to have been sexually assaulted.”
